Family time · Published November 2, 2026 · Updated 2026-11-02 · By West of Denver Events

For historical context on local programming and recreation, explore our 100 Denver-area events and recreation statistics, with original sources and reporting periods.

Start with one outing that fits the people coming along. A short activity close to home can be a better plan than squeezing several stops into the day. The current listings below cover this Friday through Sunday, using Denver's dates, and focus on events marked for families or tagged family-friendly.

Match the activity to your family

Look for the published ages or audience label before looking at the photo. Preschool, school-age, teen and all-ages activities serve different groups. Family-friendly is a useful starting point, but it doesn't mean every activity suits every age or that children can attend without an adult.

  • Check the date and specific session. Repeated events can have different start times, prices or registration requirements.
  • Separate admission from reservations. A free event can still need advance signup, and a waitlist does not guarantee a place.
  • Check the complete cost: admission, accompanying adults, materials, food and any separate purchases mentioned by the organizer.
  • Confirm the address or meeting point and any access details your family needs. Missing information should prompt a question, not an assumption.

Leave room around the event

Save your chosen occurrence, add a private reminder and allow time for travel and breaks. Saved plans flag overlapping published times, but those warnings don't include everything a family day needs. Directions links use the venue location; check the correct entrance and current conditions with the organizer.

Use the before-you-go check to review changes, cancellations, registration and missing details. For more ideas, open family events, free events or the weekend guide. If no suitable events appear here, try another town or date rather than assuming an old listing is running again.
