The free calendar: late September through October

Four verified listings carry the next five weeks, three of them in the first days of the window:

• Wheat Ridge's Longer Table — Sunday, September 27, 12–2 PM at The Green at 38th (7101 W 38th Ave). A free community meal built around one long table, where residents sit down with people they haven't met. A partnership of the City of Wheat Ridge, local businesses and community groups.
• Romanian Festival 2026 — Saturday, October 3, 11 AM–6 PM at Belmar Plaza in Lakewood (439 S. Teller St): live music and dance, cultural exhibits, artisan vendors and family-friendly activities, with free admission. Parking and accessibility details for the plaza are on our Belmar venue page.
• BOOMar – Halloween at Belmar — Saturday, October 24, 12–3 PM at The Plaza at Belmar in Lakewood: face painting, balloon twisting, crafts and live entertainment, trick-or-treating along the BOO trail and a costume parade. Free, and the series keeps its own annual page between editions.
• Día de los Muertos: Arcos y Portales Exhibit — The Collective Community Arts Center, 201 N. Public Rd in Lafayette. The free exhibition opened September 23 and runs through November 8, 10 AM–5 PM — an easy weekday afternoon while it's here.

Farmers markets: free to enter, still running in October

Markets are the quiet backbone of a free weekend west of Denver — admission costs nothing and you pay only for what you carry home. Four verified markets stretch past the start of October:

• The Boulder County Farmers Market on 13th Street between Arapahoe Ave and Canyon Blvd in downtown Boulder runs Saturdays, 8 AM–2 PM, all the way through Saturday, November 21 — so every Saturday in October is on (October 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31).
• The same market's Wednesday-evening edition runs 3:30–7:30 PM, May through October, closing out with Wednesday, October 7 — the one midweek market in the window.
• The Golden Farmers Market is a Saturday morning institution at 10th & Illinois, 8 AM–1 PM, with the season ending Saturday, October 3.
• The Arvada Farmers Market runs every Sunday, 9 AM–1 PM in Olde Town Square (5702 Olde Wadsworth Blvd) — the window's Sunday option.

Free live music thins out once the summer plaza series end, and this window is honest proof: the free listing that carries live music right now is the Romanian Festival on October 3, which is tagged both free and live music in our data. Superior's free Summer Market pairs shopping with live music too, but that series runs May through September, so it's done for 2026. One honest note first: the breweries don't publish an admission price for these recurring series, so they don't carry a free price in our listings and we haven't counted them in the free total above. Treat them as nights you don't need a ticket for, and check the brewery's page before you go.

• Green Mountain Beer Company in Lakewood runs the fullest weekly board: Open Mic Sunday at 5 PM, Live Trivia Mondays at 6:30 PM, Music Bingo Tuesdays at 6:30 PM and a Run Club Tuesday at 6 PM.
• 6 & 40 Brewery in Lakewood: Bingo Night Tuesdays 5:30–7:30 PM, "Shut Up 'N' Drink Trivia" Thursdays 6–8 PM, and a Bluegrass Pick Sundays 1:30–4 PM.
• Colorado Tap House in Arvada: Trivia Night Mondays 6:30–8:30 PM, a Run Club every Tuesday at 6 PM, and Live Music Wednesday at 5:30 PM with a rotating local artist.
